Privacy

Textbound is made by Stillbyte LLC. It is built so that we never have your messages, and never could.

What Textbound reads

• The Messages history on your Mac (~/Library/Messages), opened read-only, to show your conversations and export them. Textbound never changes, moves or deletes anything in it.
• Your Contacts, read-only, to show names next to phone numbers and emails.

What leaves your Mac

Nothing of your messages, contacts or files. Exports are written only where you choose. Textbound has no account and no analytics, and sends no crash reports.

The version downloaded from this site checks for updates: it fetches a small list of versions from updates.stillbyte.dev, which our host sees like any web request. Buying Pro happens on this site with our payment provider; the app itself learns only that Pro is on.

What Textbound keeps

Your settings (your name in exports, the time zone, the paper size) in the app's preferences on your Mac. Nothing else.
